Taeko Ohnuki is celebrating four decades of her beloved album "Comin' Soon" with a freshly remastered CD release arriving July 1st. The project marks the first time the 1986 record has received this treatment, paired with a special bonus: a recreated full-color picture book that originally came exclusively with the vinyl edition.

Designed as music families could enjoy together, "Comin' Soon" showcases Ohnuki's gift for crafting accessible pop songs. The 12-track album includes fan favorites like "Peter Rabbit and Me" and "Metropolitan Museum," the latter of which aired on NHK's beloved "Minna no Uta" (Everyone's Song). There's also a self-cover of "Zazi of the Subway," originally recorded for vocalist Tomoyo Harada.

The reissue comes in a single-size paper jacket matching the original's aesthetic, with the picture book reproduced at the same dimensions. Liner notes from music journalist Yasuo Murao are included to provide context for listeners discovering this gem.

Taeko Ohnuki stands as one of Japan's most respected singer-songwriters. After co-founding the influential group Sugar Babe in 1973—which produced the landmark album "SONGS"—she launched a solo career in 1976 that has spanned over 25 original albums. Her collaborations have brought together some of Japan's most celebrated musicians, including Ryoji Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono, and Toshiro Takahashi. Beyond music, Ohnuki has scored films like "Shall We Dance?" and handled music production for "Tokyo Digs."
