What Else Is Happening in Knoxville This May?
Dogwood Arts Festival
Knoxville's signature spring celebration fills Market Square and downtown with fine art, live music, and food vendors. A Knoxville tradition since 1961.
Rossini Festival
An international street fair in Market Square with opera, folk music, crafts, and global cuisine. One of the most unique daytime festivals in East Tennessee.
Ijams Nature Center Events

World's Fair Park
Live music, food trucks, and community events fill the park every spring. A great afternoon stop before an evening at Knox Pop Con.
Last May, the weekend capped off with Knox Pop Con — Saturday evening, May 2.
May is one of the best months to visit Knoxville. Highlights include the Dogwood Arts Festival, the Rossini Festival in Market Square, and Knox Pop Con — a one-night cultural festival celebrating anime, K-Pop, live music, cosplay, and JDM car culture that took over Bridgewater Place on May 2, 2026.
Knox Pop Con on May 2 was an all-ages event with live concerts, dance battles, a cosplay contest, a JDM car show, and 30+ vendors. Kids under 10 got in free with a ticketed adult. Dogwood Arts also runs family-friendly activities throughout the month.
Knox Pop Con 2026 has already taken place, so General Admission, VIP, and Daesang passes for that event are no longer available. KPC 2027 pricing will be announced later this year. Kids under 10 always get in free with a ticketed adult.
Absolutely. Knox Pop Con is an all-ages event run by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Cosplay was encouraged for all ages, there were food vendors on site, parking was free at Bridgewater Place, and the event wrapped up by 10 PM — a perfect Saturday evening out with the family.
Knox Pop Con is a cultural festival celebrating anime, K-Pop, J-Pop, and JDM car culture. Think live concerts, dance battles, a cosplay contest, a car show, 30+ vendors, and an electric atmosphere — all in one evening. It’s Knoxville’s first event of its kind.
Knox Pop Con 2026 took place at Bridgewater Place, 205 Bridgewater Road, Knoxville, TN 37923. Doors opened at 3 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Free parking was available on site.
